Experiences with species I was gutted to miss this bird on the Flock 2017 cruise, as we opted to remain on the port side, as the bird careened around the stern, catching glimpses of a tail disappearing, hoping it would loop around the ship - not to be. When an opportunity arose to work as a volunteer observer on the SA Agulhas II, travelling down to S63, I jumped at it. We saw 6 of these beauties, all in international waters, but boy did they put on a show, the first sighting was of three birds circling the ship. Now for one in SA waters...
