Experiences with species This duck was on my European and African lists, but not my Southern African, until one was discovered at Oudebaaskraal Dam in Tankwa Karoo National Park around easter 2017. It meant a long road trip, and there is never 100% certainty that these birds, favoured by wildfowl collectors, are truly wild birds, but the probability was pretty high on this bird. Unfortunately it did not want to present itself to us in frame filling glory... Other names: - |
