Experiences with species

As this bird has now been seen a few times in Southern Africa, I really needed to see one in real life so that I would know what to look for "when" I see one in our region. In Uganda I told Harriet "we NEED a Grasshopper Buzzard!". The first one we saw flew off and far into the bush - before I could get a good look at it. No way! I was out the vehicle and off after it - we got closer, I got a record shot, and it flew again. After that first one we got two more really close sightings.
