Eleonora's Falcon Falco eleonorae (177)
(Eleonoravalk)
Experiences with species

This is an extremely rare falcon in Southern Africa, which records of rarely come with photographic proof. Most of the "photos" I have seen have turned out to be misidentified Eurasian Hobbies, Peregrine Falcons, or immature Lanners. We were super chuffed to come across this beast in Ethiopia, it turned out to be one of the first records of northern migration through Ethiopia.
