Experiences with species I first saw these at Molopo Nature Reserve. Subsequently I saw a lot at Kgalagadi, then at Tankwa where they landed metres from me, joining me for a sundowner.. They gather and circle the waterhole calling their Afrikaans name "Kelkiewyn!". Later on Etienne Marais found a location near Carletoneville where they come in to drink - this varies as pans dry up, but find the right puddle of water and you are in with a shout. Other names: - |
