Experiences with species These Owls are often heard, with their dueting call. We were having a pre drive drink just before sunrise when the guide heard the Owl calling - he knew which tree they sat in and asked if I wanted to see it. We went back down the boardwalk and there the Owl sat. In February 2008, almost a year later, I saw a Wood Owl in the same tree! When I did a Southern African big year in 2011, I chose to start in Gorongosa - this bird was #1 on my big year list. Other names: - |
