Experiences with species We had stopped numerous times to listen and look for this bird along our way through Namibia. The Waterberg was our last hope, and boy did it deliver! We arrived in torrential rains, which continued to drizzle through the afternoon - I didn't want to waste an opportunity, so decided to climb the koppie behind the camp. I heard the birds soon after getting to the top plateau, but couldn't see them. I followed the call and was rewarded with a lengthy display from this individual. A shout down to the others had the intrepid ones of them clambering up the hill to have a look too! Other names: Pern |
