Experiences with species These small Cisticolas are found in moister grassland areas, such as the Ntsikeni vlei. They have recently been found in the farmlands around the Eastern part of Gauteng, quite an expansion of their range. The taxonomy is still under debate, as to whether this Cisticola deserves full species status, currently treated by some as a sub-species of Pectoral-patch Cisticola. IOC treats both as full species.
