Experiences with species

Tree Pipits, common European birds, normally migrate as far as the miombo highlands in Eastern Zimbabwe. They are vagrants to parts of South Africa, and have been seen sporadically in Kgaswane Nature Reserve, Rustenburg. When they were reported this year, I made a decision to get there early before work, and was rewarded with the sight of four of them. Bad weather made photos difficult, but the lifer was in the bag, and this was also my 700th species for my South African list.
