Short-tailed Pipit Anthus brachyurus (724)
IUCN Red list status: Least concern

Experiences with species

When I first saw this bird, we were at Rio Savane in Mozambique. We were fairly sure the birds that were flushing from the short grass around the pan we were at were Short-tailed Pipits. I was walking quite far from the group and saw Dalena photographing something - I couldn't see anything through binoculars. She waved me closer and there this Pipit was, quite unperturbed about our presence!
