Experiences with species My friend Alan Bedford-Shaw was birding at Richards Bay, looking for "common" things like Greater Sand Plover, when this monster of a bird flew over them. Bang went any plans for Monday morning, Richards Bay flight booked, the day was a write off, but I got the bird. A fantastic looking immature Lesser Frigatebird - 2nd Southern African lifer of 2018, and this in the first half of January - octuple nelson, #888 on my list. Other names: - |
