Experiences with species
Finding this bird was one of those adrenalin filled mornings. We were with Gary Douglas and Jono Francis,
they had asked what we should concentrate on, the Flufftail or Striped Crake. As some of us had seen Striped Crake, the Flufftail it was.
We heard them quite a few times and flattened an area around a patch of grass, but only on the 4th attempt did we get lucky. I held the
camera at the ready, and managed these poor quality pics. They do show it's streaky breast though!
