Kori Bustard Ardeotis kori (230)
(Gompou)
Experiences with species

The first Kori Bustard I saw was North of Francistown in Botswana, in 1980. This huge bird was walking in the road and took off - it's not often you see one fly. They are fairly common in Kruger Park, and very common in Kgalagadi. They are the heaviest flying bird in the world, weighing up to 19 kilograms.
