Experiences with species Etienne had been seeing these warblers more and more regularly, then my mate Reg goes and sees one, and boy does he let us know he's seen a mega which we haven't. So obviously, being up in Moz for the Bee-eater, we had to make some effort to track down this blighter. We stopped at Zangue bridge, which as normal, was not the most uninhabited spot on the planet. It was stinking hot, we had quite a few miles to travel on really shoddy roads, so we were ready to throw in the towel - Allan had jogged off to get his car, when out of the thicket erupted the unmistakeable warble of Sir Basrrrrrra Reed-Warbler! We changed plans (again), and planned to spend the afternoon tracking this beast down. Not to be - we went back to Mphingwe feeling a little dejected. That is, until the next morning, when it decided to show itself at the crack of dawn. CELEBRATIONS! (It actually turned out that a "Lesser Swamp-Warbler" type bird I had suspected may be our bird a few days earlier, was indeed a Basra as well, so we'd seen it, but not identified it at the time.)
