Cinderella Waxbill Estrilda thomensis (849)
(Angolasysie)
Experiences with species

This required a "strenuous walk" up a stream bed we were told. It turned out to be quite a lot easier walk than expected. The guides had said that they saw 13 birds two weeks back, 2 birds the previous, so we had to hope for the best. We saw around 8 birds, and a bit of a crawl up the hill got me close enough to photograph them. Aren't we lucky that they are creatures of habit, coming back to the same spot to drink, at about the same time, every day!
